(APPLETON, WI / DUSSELDORF, GERMANY) In response to an increase in the worldwide demand for consumer-friendly drawtape-style trash bags, CMD demonstrated the Model 1270GDS Global Drawtape Bagmaking system at K-2007, the leading international show for rubber and plastics, held in Dusseldorf, October 24-31. The show attracted more 242,000 visitors, with 2,900 exhibitors filling 17 halls.
The 1270GDS ran at high production speeds of 183 meters per minute (600 feet per minute) and produced both HDPE and LDPE drawtape trash bags. The Global Drawtape System was configured with the Model 0305GOW Global Overlap Bag Winder and produced bags on a roll, banded for retail merchandising. Patented technology differentiates the Global Overlap Winder, which winds both perf-connected and overlapped bags onto a space-saving, convenient coreless roll. Overlapped bag winding allows for easy bag dispensing with no tugging to separate bags from one another.
The 1270GDS Global Drawtape System and 0305GOW Global Overlap Winder demonstrated at the show were sold to an eastern European customer. “Drawtape bags are gaining acceptance and popularity in Europe,” notes Shaughn Hanley, Director of International Marketing and Sales for Europe. “Our customer is excited by the process speeds, ease of operation, and diagnostic product quality checks the CMD Global Drawtape Bag on a Roll line offers.”
