(OCTOBER, 2005) - Appleton, WI - CMD unpacked the boxes, swept off the construction dust and officially opened the new, 43,000 sq. ft. Technology Centerat 3005 E. Pershing Street, directly east of the Appleton CMD headquarters.![]() CMD has devoted an entire division solely to the development of customized and proprietary technology, processes and equipment. CMD is a 25-year veteran of the plastic converting and packaging machinery industry, specializing in bag and pouch making equipment. As pioneers in the technology for drawtape bag making and overlap bag winding, the firm holds numerous patents on its signature equipment lines. CMD is unique among machinery manufacturers in its continuing investment in technology resources, largely due to the philosophy of company president, John Schmidt.
