PDI Platen Machine for Pouches with Shaped Seals
The Shaped Seal Pouch System by PDI® produces peelable chevron shaped surgical pouches at speeds up to 220 cpm. Products include shaped seal pouches, surgical peel pouches, self-seal surgical peel pouches and autoclavable tube stock. These high-quality pouches are made from paper or Tyvek® sealed to PET/LDPE or PET/PP. Upper and lower parent rolls of film are simultaneously unwound; tension matched, punched, combined and heat sealed with customer specific pattern. After sealing, the web is typically slit into multiple lanes and cut into individual pouches which are stacked and conveyed to an automated pack-off system or operator station for offloading. In the surgical-tubing application, a slitter-rewinder is typically downstream of the PDI® Shaped Seal Pouch System. Flexographic printing can be integrated upstream.
