ROLLED AUTO PACKAGING

The rolled bag automation, or RAP unit, interfaces with the CMD 4213RO Rotary Overlap Bag Winder. Rolls are removed from the winder spindle by the RAP unit and placed in boxes, which travel to the unit on an infeed conveyor. Filled boxes then exit the unit from an outfeed conveyor*. The entire process eliminates the need for packaging personnel to remove the rolls from the winder and place them in boxes - a repetitive-motion activity that can lead to worker fatigue, poor production and workplace injuries.

FEATURES

• High production speeds, sustainable at up to 600 fpm (183 mpm) and/or 20 rolls per minute, depending upon roll size and application.
  
• Special registration eyes work to ensure consistent product quality and uniformity:
  
  • One eye senses the size of the roll; any "telescoping" will be detected and the roll is discharged to a reject conveyor.
    
  • Another eye will detect if the roll has any "trailing tails" which could interfere with proper autopackaging. These rolls will also be placed on the reject conveyor.
    
  • The electronic controls on the winder are customized to interface with the RAP unit.
    
  • The RAP unit can be configured with a variety of conveying systems and cartons/boxes.
